HOW WE DO IT

STEP 1: Demolition

Prior to starting any outdoor project, we call DigAlert to assure that we do not disturb any underground pipes. We demolish the existing work area and haul away all debris.

Step 2: Preparation

For larger and longer projects, we will place a porta-potty in the front yard for your convenience and your privacy.

STEP 3: Grading and leveling

This is the key point of making a driveway that will last twenty to thirty years. Proper grading is the first thing that will lead to a good driveway. We’ll remove rocks, grovel, roots, and weed and leave some grading material on the edges that will be used later for the appearance that the asphalt is leveled with the ground.

Step 4: Drains

We will cap all unnecessary irrigation lines directly from the valves, then remove all caped lines. Our team makes sure to properly plan for the right drains and water flow. We will put trench for the drains from highest to lowest point. Then, we install NDS hardcore PVC exterior grade drain pipes. Most other companies will use home depot grade pipes.

STEP 5: Irrigation

We’ll reroute or install new irrigation pipes following the proper codes and regulations, then test all valves for the best water performance. We’ll also run empty PVC lines for any future lights or electrical lines.

Step 6: Compacting

Now, we stamp the subgrade with a heavy-duty plate compactor to create a well-compacted surface for minimal future movement and a well-prepared surface for the following steps.

STEP 7: Laying the asphalt

We’ll use asphalt paving machine to get the smoothest surface and an even and consistent depth of asphalt. If the machine can’t access the small area you want to cover, the only way to do it is by hand. The experienced team comes in then and makes an even layer.

Step 8: Compacting Asphalt

The asphalt should be compacted as soon as it’s laid out from the paving machine and while it’s still hot. We will make sure that the asphalt gets compacted well, without a risk of deterioration. The edges must be compacted as well to avoid cracking.

STEP 9: Leveling the asphalt with the ground

The asphalt will be above the level of the ground, so if a vehicle drives off the road, the edges will be at risk of cracking and deterioration. We will shoulder the driveway to prevent any damage to the edges.

Step 10: Putting cones or caution tape

People should be informed that the driveway is new, and we’ll do it by putting cones or caution tape at the end of the driveway.

Clean up

At the end of the process, the job site will remain clean, washed, and free from any debris or dust.

Inspection

At the end of every project, our project manager will perform a final walk-through and inspection of your pavers project to confirm that the work meets our strict quality guidelines.
